Your PC can be so slow — we're all
very familiar with this! Once you've got Windows loaded, starting up
any other package can be a torment. It's slow and you sometimes get
a PC crash. So what is a RAM booster and what can it do for you and
your PC? Well I've come across and use a neat utility that acts as a
superb RAM booster. It's called RAMrocket
and I would rate it as the top background utility we use here at
Redlaw (see our test
results).
RAM Booster — RAMrocket
allows your computer to run faster and uses your RAM more efficiently.
You can free up wasted RAM at any time allowing your system to have
more memory available, making programs run faster. It can automatically
free-up RAM if you're running out too! You can configure your cache
settings to suit the way you use your computer, optimize your virtual
settings to reduce virtual memory re-sizing, disk swapping, disk defragmentation,
and constant hard disk access. RAMrocket runs in the background recovering
and defragging RAM, recovering memory leaks, all helping to keep your
system in peak condition.
Is it worthwhile? —
I can honestly say that this utility has made a huge difference to the
running and the speed of our PC's here, particularly on the slightly
older computers. We put the RAM booster on a recent laptop fitted with
128Meg of RAM. The utility tells you how much RAM is used at any time
and we were astonished how
much of our memory was sucked up just by loading Windows! Add medium
size packages and our entire RAM was used up. It explained why running
several applications was so slow. No more after installing the RAM booster!
RAMrocket handled it all impeccably and we were truly impressed. If
you're going to tweak something on your PC, definitely use RAMrocket
as a RAM booster. Multi-award winner.
